Emirates, famous airline based in Dubai, cancelled all flights on the Dubai - Zagreb route for this year.
Emirates planned to come back to Zagreb on its seasonal route from the beginning of March this year, but due to the pandemic situation, resumption date was postponed few times. The latest plan was to resume this route from the September this year.
Since this is a seasonal route (operating only during the summer season, until the end of October), it was obvious that the airline will not resume flights this year, which is now confirmed by the airline.
All flights until end of October are now cancelled and tickets are not on sale anymore. It is possible to book flights from the beginning of April 2021.
Emirates has been flying to Zagreb from Dubai daily during the summer season with the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which was also the biggest passenger regular aircraft in Zagreb Airport. After this cancelation, Zagreb Airport will not have regular widebody aircraft this year (Korean Air, Air Canada Rouge and Air Transat announced flight suspension before).
In the winter timetable, FlyDubai should operate the Dubai - Zagreb route with the B737-800 aircraft, but that is subject to change due to the epidemiological measures and travel restrictions.
This cancelation is one more hit for Zagreb Airport. We will continue to monitor situation and we really hope that Emirates will come back to Zagreb during the spring 2021.!
