The company decided to reduce this route from two to one weekly flight, and, instead of May 27th, the route will be active from July 29th. Flights will stop to operate earlier than before, on September 16th. The route will be operated with A220 aircraft since the airline decided to use just one aircraft type this summer season in order to reduce its costs as much as possible. New route which was announced from AirBaltic for this year, between Vilnius and Rijeka will not operate at all, same goes for route Vilnius - Dubrovnik..

Eurowings also postponed service resumption to Rijeka from Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, and Stuttgart. Almost all of the routes were supposed to start in May, but that will not happen. Almost all routes are now scheduled from the beginning of June. Eurowings is the carrier that has the biggest capacity in Rijeka Airport and suspension of these flights will strongly affect Rijeka’s passenger numbers. Croatian Aviation got the information that Eurowings will keep just one route operating to Croatia during the May, between Cologne and Zagreb. Rijeka Airport recorded its biggest passenger number in 2019., more than 200 000 passengers went through this airport. Unfortunately, a positive trend will be stopped this year.
